Scope of Application
With this data protection declaration, users receive information about the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of their data by the responsible provider. The Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG) form the legal framework for data protection.
Collection of General Information
We use Netlify as our web host. Netlify Inc. is an American company. We cannot rule out the possibility that personal data may be processed in the USA as a result. In order to nevertheless be able to guarantee an appropriate level of protection, we have concluded a data protection agreement with Netlify based on the EU's standard contractual clauses. When visiting websites, your browser automatically transmits information. This includes:
- the IP address
- the page from which a page of our website was requested
- the page called within our website
- Date and time of the request
- the amount of data transferred
- the access status (whether the request was successful or not)
- the browser used, e.g. Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari etc.
The provision of the aforementioned personal data is neither legally nor contractually required. However, without the IP address, the service and functionality of our website cannot be guaranteed.
We store parts of it in a log file, the so-called server log. We do this for the following purposes:
- uninterrupted use of the website
- System security and stability
- technically error-free presentation and optimization of the website
Processing of this data is carried out in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 1, Letter f of the GDPR based on our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.
The data from the server log is automatically deleted after 7 days.
Handling of Personal Data
Definition: Personal data is all information that can be used to clearly identify a person. It is therefore data that can be traced back to a specific person. These personal data includes the first name and surname, telephone number as well as email address. Information on hobbies, memberships and preferences along with websites that have been accessed are also considered personal data. This data is only collected, used and, if necessary, passed on by Terra Siciliana if this is explicitly permitted by law or if the user consents to the collection, processing, use and disclosure of the data.
Objection to Processing of Personal Data
On the basis of compelling legitimate grounds relating to your particular situation you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data based on Art. 6 Sec. 1 lit. f DSGVO (processing based on legitimate interest). This also applies to profiling as described in Art. 4 Nr. 4 DSGVO.
Website Leads by Visable
Terra Siciliana uses products and services for analysis and marketing purposes, which are provided in cooperation with Visable GmbH.
For this purpose, pixel tracking technology is used to collect, process, and store data in order to create at least pseudonymised user profiles and, where possible and appropriate, fully anonymised user profiles.
The collected data, which may initially include personal data, is transmitted to Visable or collected directly by Visable and used there to create the aforementioned user profiles. Visitors to this website are not personally identified, and no other personal data is merged with the user profiles.
If IP addresses are identified as personal data, they are immediately deleted. You can object to the processing operations described above at any time with effect for the future.
Data Economy
In accordance with the principles of data avoidance and data economy, we only store personal data for as long as it is necessary or prescribed by law (statutory storage period). If the purpose of the information collected no longer applies or the storage period ends, we will block or delete the data.

In order to ensure that our data protection declaration always complies with the current legal requirements, we reserve the right to make changes at any time. This also applies in the event that the data protection declaration has to be adapted due to new or revised services.
